Welcome to PP Construction Limited.
“To build with quality in a friendly, efficient and safety-conscious manner at the most competitive price possible”
PP Construction has been established for over 10 years within the groundwork and civil engineering sectors. John and Richard Neville commercially manage the company with close support from Paul Potter and Carl Trussler in the form of production management.
Our offices are based in Swallowfield, just south of Reading. They consist of a general yard and plant area, three workshops and ancillary buildings. We have facilities for the maintenance of our own equipment and our plant manager is fully trained and conversant with current regulations regarding plant management.
Our current workload brings us into contact with many multi-national contractors with sites spread over the south east of England. The average size of our projects is very variable with contracts in the range of £25,000 - £4.5 million.
PP construction principally acts as a sub-contractor however, with increasing frequency we are acting as principal contractors and have proven that we are competent to do so.
To support our site operations we employ 4 fully qualified managing engineers who utilise the latest technology to assist them in their work. We also have further access to reliable, experienced engineers should we require any specialist expertise or advice.
Within our remit from various principal contractors we undertake all sorts of civil engineering and groundworks. We regularly carry out demolition, bulk earth moving, foundations, ground beams, pile caps, floor slabs, underpinning, temporary works, reinforced concrete walls and columns, stairs, drainage, attenuation tanks, pumping stations, manholes, inspection chambers, services, service diversions, kerbs, edgings, block paving and hard and soft landscaping.
We are also able to offer ‘value engineering’ with regards to any of our works. It is our aim to assist the principal contractor, or the client, to find the best value for the project, suggesting savings where possible and to rationalise the design and incorporate cost effective materials without the loss of quality. We consider our program in relation to other trades and endeavour to improve production times.
In 2001 we formed our own in-house training company: First Safety Training Ltd which became an accredited City & Guilds and CTA training centre in June 2003 and has since been qualifying our own, and other, contractors to City & Guilds and the recently established CPCS standards. We fully recognise our legal and moral responsibilities under Health & Safety legislation and feel we have a lead over our competitors in this area.
